Europe stands at a decisive turning point. Geopolitical tensions, rapid technological change and an increasingly fragmented global environment are placing new demands on economic strategy, political cohesion and Europe’s capacity to act globally.
Against this backdrop, the European Conference of the German Business 2026 brings together leading representatives from business, national governments and European institutions. Organised by the Network of German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHKs) in close cooperation with the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK), the conference offers a high-level platform for strategic dialogue on Europe’s competitiveness and resilience.
The conference will examine how Europe can strengthen its economic foundations, unlock innovation and at the same time maintain political unity and global relevance. A resilient Europe is built through cooperation – between business and politics, between Member States, and between established industries and emerging technologies. It requires strategic clarity, decisive action and an economic policy agenda that balances growth, security and European values.
Lisbon provides an ideal setting for this exchange. As a bridge between continents and a dynamic hub for innovation, the city symbolises openness and forward-looking dialogue. Over two days, participants will strengthen partnerships and develop concrete perspectives for Europe’s role in a rapidly changing world.
The European Conference of the German Business is more than a forum. It is a strategic signal for European cohesion, economic responsibility and global capability to act.
A strong Europe requires strong partnerships.
We invite you to help shape this dialogue.
