Fewer misunderstandings, more effective collaboration in Finnish–German business

Working with German or Finnish partners is not always as straightforward as it seems. Even though the business cultures share similarities, differences in communication, decision-making and trust-building often lead to misunderstandings that slow down sales, negotiations and collaboration.

This Business Culture Training helps you recognise these differences and apply them directly in your own work. By exploring both perspectives – how Finns and Germans experience each other in business – you gain practical tools to communicate clearly, build trust faster and navigate negotiations with confidence. The training is based on established international research and brought to life through concrete examples and real-life insights, ensuring you can immediately put what you learn into practice and accelerate your success in Finnish–German business.

What you will learn

  • How trust is built differently in Germany and Finland
  • The most common differences in communication – and how to avoid misunderstandings
  • Differences in decision-making and what to expect in meetings and negotiations
  • How to present your ideas and offering in a clear and convincing way
  • Better cooperation and more effective sales in Finnish–German business

Why this training

This popular training has been attended by over 500 participants from more than 20 countries. You will gain a clear understanding of how cultural differences shape decision-making, communication and cooperation. You will also learn to look at situations beyond your own cultural perspective.

The training provides practical tools that you can apply directly in your own work when working across cultures and borders.

As the only bilateral chamber of commerce in Finland, we work equally closely with Finnish and German companies. Our trainers have deep understanding of both cultures, based on extensive experience of living and working in both countries.

“The Business Culture Training of the AHK Finland provided me and my Renewables Leadership Team a solid understanding of cultural differences and their impact on leadership and project management.

Especially the practical, hands-on examples as well as the committed and humorous way of the trainer were impressive. That induced our Leadership Team to offer the training for even a bigger group of people in our team.

We received only positive feedback from all our employees from various cultures. I can highly recommend this training.”
